What is PT-141

PT-141 is a melanocortin receptor agonist that works centrally (brain-based) rather than through penile blood flow.It enhances sexual desire, arousal, and erectile response, even in patients who fail PDE-5 inhibitors.

Dosing guidelines

Start Low, Titrate Up

Men

  • Starting dose: 0.5 mg SQ
  • Typical effective dose: 1.0 mg SQ
  • Max dose: 1.5–2.0 mg SQ
  • Frequency: No more than 1 dose per 24 hours, 2–3x per week max

Women

  • Starting dose: 0.25–0.5 mg SQ
  • Typical dose: 0.5–1.0 mg SQ

Onset & duration

  • Onset: 30–90 minutes
  • Peak effect: ~2–4 hours
  • Duration: 6–12 hours (sometimes longer)
